Dr Andrew Teichtahl (MBBS (Hons), B.Physio (Hons), FRACP, PhD) is a consultant Rheumatologist who specialises in connective tissue disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis and polymyalgia rheumatica. Dr Teichtahl has a keen research interest in musculoskeletal diseases, including osteoarthritis and back pain, where he has a strong international profile and has academic appointments at both Monash University and the Baker Institute. He has been an invited speaker at both national and international conferences, including the American College of Rheumatology. Combining both clinical practice and research has enabled Dr Teichtahl to be at the forefront of current trends and rheumatology practice.
Dr Teichtahl has a public appointment at both the Alfred and Box Hill Hospitals and has a private practice servicing the care needs of the Eastern Melbourne suburbs.
