The Blackburn Specialist Centre
A range of visiting Specialists and Allied Health Professionals consult at various times throughout the week and each one of them are separate entities to the Blackburn Specialist Centre and to each other.
Since 2011 General Practitioners have also practiced at the Blackburn Specialist Centre.
While we do handle appointments for certain Specialists, other Specialists and Allied Health Professionals need to be contacted at their main room to make an appointment to see them at the Blackburn Specialist Centre.
Ample car parking and disabled reserved spots are available on site at the centre. The main Entrance is on Maple St, with an undercover drop off area at the entrance of the centre and courtesy wheel chairs are available inside the foyer at the main entrance.
The Blackburn Specialist Centre is located opposite the Carson Suite once you are inside the building.
GPs at Blackburn Specialist Centre
Since 2011 Blackburn Clinic Medical Services has provided administrative, business and clinical support and facilities to a small number of General Practitioners at the premises of Blackburn Specialist Centre, as an expansion of the Blackburn Clinic trading name that was established by Professor Neil Carson in 1952. Over the years this number has grown such that more than half the visitors to Blackburn Specialist Centre are visiting to see a GP.
Blackburn Clinic Medical Services supports general practitioners at three suites within the same building at 195 Whitehorse Road. Patients are welcome to see the GPs at any of:
- Suite 5—Blackburn Clinic
- Suite 2– Blackburn Specialist Centre
- Suite 8 – Blackburn Clinic Carson Suite.
The fees, policies and procedures are uniform across all sites. All sites have secure access to patient clinical data and share the same system for patient appointments.
Please see the GPs page for the details of which GPs consult at each Suite.
When the Blackburn Specialist Centre and the Carson Suite are closed, patients are welcome to attend the Blackburn Clinic suite.
The doctors who choose to provide services from Blackburn Clinic sites are committed to providing the highest level of medical care for all patients, of varying ages and needs.
