Matthew Yeates is an Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with almost two decades of experience in the assessment and management of complex musculoskeletal conditions across tertiary hospital and private practice settings. His expertise includes advanced musculoskeletal assessment, differential diagnosis and evidence-based management of complex musculoskeletal disorders.
Matthew held senior clinical roles at Austin Health, where he led inpatient and emergency department physiotherapy services and the outpatient spinal surgery rehabilitation program. He also led the design and implementation of the Austin Health Back Pain Rapid Access Clinic, improving access and outcomes for patients presenting to the Emergency Department with back and leg pain.
Matthew provides thorough, patient-centred care focused on identifying the underlying cause of pain. His approach combines comprehensive assessment, clear communication and individualised treatment planning, supported by longer consultation times.
At My Advanced Physio, Matthew provides expert assessment and management for people with neck and back pain, sporting injuries, tendon disorders, shoulder, hip and knee conditions, persistent musculoskeletal pain, post-operative rehabilitation and complex presentations requiring advanced assessment or a second opinion.
