Australian Cardiac Diagnostic Service is a long-established, fully accredited visiting cardiac service which operates throughout Melbourne and parts of regional Victoria. The service was founded by Cardiologist Dr Maurice Rosenbaum.
Ms Peta Rawson, a specially trained echocardiogram sonographer, visits our clinic on a fortnightly basis to deliver a high-quality echocardiography service. An echocardiogram checks your heart rhythm and uses ultrasound technology to see how blood moves through your heart and to assess the size of your heart chambers, which can help to diagnose any heart conditions. This is a simple and non-invasive procedure and no preparation is required.
When you attend for an echocardiogram, you will be asked to remove your shoes and top. Electrodes are placed on your body and warmed gel will be applied to your chest. You may experience some pressure from the ultrasound probe and you may be requested to hold your breath for a short period of time.
The information and images compiled by Peta is then examined by a Cardiologist and a comprehensive report is sent to your referring doctor.
Australian Cardiac Diagnostic Service conforms with all Medicare requirements and is pleased to offer bulk-billing to all patients.
